Deep, hands-on competence in the conformity-assessment standard certification bodies are themselves accredited against — so the logic in this tool is built to what an audit actually tests. Audits are conducted independently by an Approved Quality Auditor you select from the JAS-ANZ-accredited list, and only your organisation’s actual practice determines the outcome. - Do I have to give an email address to see the result?
- No. The result appears in full the moment you finish the questions. There is no form in front of it. You can subscribe afterwards if you want the printable checklist, and you can ignore that entirely.
- Where do the answers go?
- Nowhere. The tool runs in your browser and encodes your answers into the page address so you can bookmark the result or send it to a colleague. Nothing is submitted to us and nothing is stored on a server.
- How does it decide verification or certification?
- From the Commission's own registration group table. A verification audit is for low risk, low complexity supports; a certification audit is for higher risk supports. Where an application mixes groups from both, the Commission's rule is that the whole application goes to certification.
- What is the 1 October 2026 date?
- It is the Commission's apply-by date for providers who are already delivering supported independent living without registration. The Commission's transition pathway states that providers can continue to deliver SIL during the application for registration if they apply by 1 October 2026. It is a date to lodge, not a date to be approved or to be audit-ready.
- Will it tell me I can make the deadline no matter what I answer?
- No, and that is the point. Where the answers say a properly evidenced application cannot realistically be ready in the time left, the tool says so and tells you what your actual options are — including the ones that do not involve us.
- Is this regulatory advice?
- No. It is general information built from the Commission's published material, and every regulatory claim in the result links to its source. The initial scope of audit the Commission issues after a valid application is what actually governs your audit type and modules.
